Why did you choose insurance as a profession?
You could say I kind of fell into it - or I was born into it. However...insurance certainly wasn't my first choice!
My dad's rule for all of his kids was that we had to have 5 years of work experience elsewhere in order to work at Henriott. I took that to heart and worked 7 years, primarily in the banking industry. I decided it would be silly to not give our family business a try, especially since I was interested in business.
Why Henriott?
Because of the example my dad has set, we differentiate ourselves by genuinely caring for, investing in, and diligently working on behalf of our clients and community. Our business is about more than insurance... it's about protecting people’s most valuable assets - their families, businesses, and employees. It's about being there and helping when disaster strikes. It's about continually researching, learning, educating and assisting ourselves and others.
Bottom line… people choose us because they know we listen and hear the real issues at hand. This allows us to focus on issues hidden under the water, not just the ones on the surface. We are there to get them back on their feet in their time of need. It's a relationship that we are invested in, and that’s what keeps us coming back every day.
Do you volunteer anywhere? If so, where and why?
Yes! Read to Succeed is a wonderful place to volunteer my time, and our office fully supports programs that gets our employees involved in helping others and things that we're passionate about.
Once a week I go to Earhart Elementary and work with 1st graders. I help them read, quiz, work on site words - whatever it is that they need help with that day. The teachers love it, the kids love it, and the volunteers love it. Win - Win - Win!
